Class of 2026: Emanuel Flores Sanchez

Meet Class of 2026 senior Emanuel Flores Sanchez.

What is your first and last name?

Emanuel Flores Sanchez

Which school do you attend?

Brooklyn Center High School STEAM

What groups, activities or sports have you been involved in throughout your high school career?

A group that I was involved in while my time in high school was creating the high school soccer enrichment with the help of two of my friends and also Mr. Kane which made it all possible, and I am very thankful that he actually listened to my idea and thought it would be good for students who aren’t really interested in the other enrichments and just want to have fun and play soccer inside and also outside when the perfect weather came around.

What is your favorite memory from high school?

My favorite high school memory doesn’t really have to do with school, but it took place at school: watching the 2022 World Cup in class. Since the games were being played in Qatar, they were all at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. It was an amazing and fun experience watching the games with my friends in class; I will remember those memories forever.

Is there a staff member who has gone beyond for you? If so, who? How have they gone beyond?

One staff member that has always been there for me for the good and bad moments was Mr. Kane. When I was confused on the most simple and also the most challenging parts of school, he would always be there to help me. He showed me so many awesome opportunities and programs to look into and one of them was FTI which I did and absolutely loved. He is an incredible counselor and I know many other students love him and the help he gives. He’s just an awesome person all around, he is always caring and helping to everyone and always wants what’s best for everyone. I will miss seeing him running around the hallways.

As Centaurs, we stand front and center. What do you stand front and center for?

I stand front and center for achieving goals in life. Never ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do anything because you definitely can; it doesn’t matter what people think. Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take towards reaching it. Nothing is impossible, the word itself says “I’m possible.”

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan on joining the trades and becoming an industrial painter.

What advice would you give someone just starting high school?

A key piece in high school is to always do your work in class and don't say you'll do it later at home because you most likely won't. Just get it over with in class and go home and relax and get ready to go again the next day, and of course have fun while in high school. Go on field trips to colleges when you are a junior and senior if you plan on attending college or other cool field trips you will be offered by the amazing CCRC staff, but just have fun in general because it will go by very fast.
